Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire is held at Summerhall – the former Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh, which is now a creative hub for the arts with studio and workshop spaces. Summerhall is open to the public all year round and hosts events in all the City’s major festivals. Visitors will also find theatre and gallery spaces, libraries and small museums, educational and research programmes, studios and workshops.
There are 5 steps at the main entrance to the building, but step free access is through the side entrance on Summerhall Square. The building has lift access to some First Floor and Basement spaces. Reasonable adjustments have been made to the venue to give the best access for customers with disabilities. However Summerhall is B-listed and over one hundred years old and not all venue spaces are fully accessible. Visit the Summerhall website for further information.
At Summerhall you’ll find a family friendly cafe which serves hot and cold food, coffee, tea and a variety of cold drink throughout the day. The Royal Dick Bar also serves food from noon to 9pm and has a great selection of drinks including Pickering’s Gin and Barney’s Beer – both made onsite.
