Calling all makers, innovators, crafters and tinkerers!
The Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire is a celebration of creativity in all its forms. Last year – our fourth year – we welcomed over 1,500 visitors to Summerhall on Sunday 10 April. Attendees got to meet over 150 makers who were exhibiting and explaining projects of all shapes and sizes.

We’re set to return on Sunday 16 April 2017 and we’re aiming to bring together more talented people who love to make things. Whether you’re a professional or a beginner and whether your project is complete or still a work-in-progress, we welcome anyone who is embracing the DIY or DIT (do-it-together!) spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience. This is the perfect opportunity to share your work with a huge variety of people, generate new ideas and make new connections.

What we are looking for
You can get involved as a stallholder, as workshop provider or as a speaker in our short talks programme. Exhibits that are interactive or highlight the process of making things are especially desired. Here are some suggestions for the types of projects we’d like to see:

  • 3D printers and digital fabrication
  • Biology/biotech and chemistry projects
  • Crafts and design
  • Drones, rockers and remote control toys
  • Gadgets, inventions and hacks of any sort
  • Glass and ceramics
  • Food tech and hacks
  • Foundry and blacksmithing
  • Electronics, Arduino and Raspberry Pi projects
  • Kinetic, fire and installation art
  • Music performances and instruments
  • Puppets and props
  • Radios, vintage computers and game systems
  • Robotics, homemade robots
  • Shelters, tents and domes
  • Sustainable transportation, bicycles and human-powered machines
  • Textiles and arts and crafts
  • Unusual tools or machines
  • Wearables, e-textiles, fashion tech
  • Young makers and school maker clubs

How to get involved
The first step to participating is to submit an application that tells us about yourself and your project. Entries can be submitted from individuals, groups such as hobbyist clubs and schools, commercial makers or crafters, startups and companies (visit our Become a Sponsor page if you are interested in additional partnership opportunities).

Submit an online application before 5pm on Monday 20 February 2017 for your chance to be part of the 2017 Edinburgh Mini Maker Faire.
